Donald Parks made his grand entrance into the world in Kansas City, Kansas on July 6, 1951, as the last child born to Lonnie and Lola Parks. He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and graduated in 1969 as a proud Mighty Blue Eagle.
He confessed his faith and love for Christ at an early age and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. He later became a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. Having a strong work ethic, Donald held many positions in the Kansas City area but was most proud of his 36 years at UPS where he retired in July 2013. Donald met the love of his life, Sheila, through a mutual game of baseball between their young sons at Swope Park in the summer of 1983.
Seven years later they were married on January 13, 1990. They spent their time together traveling and enjoying their families near and far. Both Donald and Sheila shared a love for kids and their families and made great memories at their family reunions each year. Donald was a meticulous dresser who had just the right outfit for every occasion! Having a generous and kind heart, he didn’t hesitate to give whatever he had to whoever needed it. Donald joins in sweet eternity his father, Lonnie Parks; mother, Lola Parks; son, Bobby Renard Davis; and granddaughter, Danisha Allen. Donald leaves behind to cherish his precious memories: wife, Sheila Parks; brother, Ronnie Parks; son, Donald French; brothers-in-laws, Reginald Davis (Yolanda) of Gainesville, VA and Malik Rachmann (Halema) of Raeford, NC; sister-in-law, Saundra K. Williams (Fred) of Sacramento, CA; six grandchildren, James Davis, Adreonna Davis, Asiah Renard Davis, and Baileah Collins (Nicole Collins), and Ciera Jordan, Tirana Miller (Donald French); five great-grandchildren, Bobby Davis, Brayden Davis, Harlow Davis, Thomas Daniel, Jr., and Ciario Miller; god-family, James, Yasheka, Teron, Kaden, and Kyan Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
