Loraine B. Allen

Loraine Allen was born September 21, 1949. She departed this life Sunday, November 3, 2024.

She was the second of seven children born to the union of Hollis Sr. and Katie Blockmon. Both parents and a brother, Kent, preceded her in death.

She attended Kansas City, Kansas public schools, graduating from Sumner High School, class of 1967.

Loraine was a highly artistic person, with a passion for fashion, beauty, and art.

She was a lifelong public servant, working as a Claims Authorizer for the Social Security Administration. During her tenure there she held a long-standing role as Union Steward for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Local 1336. She retired from federal service after thirty-seven years.

Loraine enjoyed growing plants, gardening, and studying history.

She leaves behind one son, two daughters, three brothers, two sisters, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, many more extended families and friends.
