Adravella Mondaine, 83 passed away on December 8, 2021, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Adravella, aka, Vet and Ole Girl entered this world on July 11, 1938 to Luster and Aquila Dickey. She was preceded in death by both parents; 2 sons, Brian and Derrick Mondaine; 1 grandson, Ahmad Mondaine; 1 sister, Lola Ramey;and 1 brother, Cardell Hervey.
Audrey, as she was called by her family and friends, was educated in the Arkansas Public School system in Menifee, Arkansas. The family moved to Kansas City, KS in 1952 where she attended Sumner High School graduating in 1956. After graduation Audrey attended Avila University and obtained an associate degree.
She began her career as a court reporter at the Kansas City Courthouse. She also worked at the family business, Chicken Inn, for many years. She later obtained her real estate license and worked for her brother at Dickey Real Estate Investment Co. as a real estate agent. In 1980 Audrey began working in the Kansas City Public School district where she remained until she retired.
She was a member of the Swope Parkway Church of Christ for over 50 years. She participated in Willing Workers,Cashmere sewing circle, Sunday School teacher, and meals on wheels.
Audrey loved people and always made them laugh. She was the life of the party wherever she went. If you were single, she would always try to find you a mate. Her home was always open to anyone that needed a place to stay. She was active with her travel club the Elite Travelettes. They went on cruises and traveled to many places. She was also in abowling league for many years. Wherever there were people having fun you would find Audrey.
Audrey was married to Willie Mondaine for many years, and they remained close friends until her death.
Audrey is survived by 2 daughters, Charlotte Dickey, and Kimberly Mondaine; 1 son, David Mondaine; 1 sister, Norma Thomas; 1 brother, Lester Dickey; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 special daughter, Mitti Handley;and a host of other relatives and friends.
