Agnes Marie Smith, 71, passed away December 9, 2017 at home in Kansas City, Mo. She was born November 2, 1946 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Newton Smith and Ora Mar Wilson (Smit).
She was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District where she attended and graduated from Central High School. Agnes would soon grow into a loving mother of three children, later having grandchildren. Agnes was a woman that enjoyed life and family. The joyful and laughter times with people, she loved dearly and deeply. Her personality and strength were bigger than life.
She was a big part of her family’s legacy, and will be missed not as a distant memory, but close to our hearts, as she watches over us smiling and protecting us. Words can not express the feeling of being without you, but we must not be saddened by this moment, but strong as we celebrate the life she lived and the obstacles my mother has overcome. Stronger we will become as time heals all and knowing you are home and waiting on our arrival as we all return home
She was preceded in death by Newton Smith, Ora Mae Smith, Velma Smith, Woodro Smith, Lil’ Archie Smith and Ida Mae Smith.
She is survived by Bobby Ray Smith, Christine Smith, Michael Smith, Monisha Smith, David Lee Smith, II, Dontashia Smith, Mark Ross Jr., Jasmine Staples., Tanisha Griffin, Terriah, William F. smith, Linzey Smith, David Lee Smith Sr., Sha’Ninfa T.M. Dunn, Rico C. Dunn-Smith, Paula Smith, and Darlene Howard.
When the day arrives that there are no more tomorrows for me, I want my friends, family, and children to know and never forget that they were, are, and always will be deeply truly and forever loved by me.
To all who loved my momma, say a prayer for our hearts are heavy and minds are weak. Moving without you is going to be hard. But the light in the sky lets me know you made it home. Tell all I said and never good bye! Rest well for you are in no more pain and you can be happy knowing you did a good while here on earth. We will all have pain, but we now know you have no more pain. Gone to soon. How do we live without you? Lost but, yet so found. Thank you, God, for the mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that we were all blessed to have in our presents.
