Listen to Obituary

Alanna Marie Henlon graced the world with her presence on November 6, 2001, in Kansas City, MO, to her loving parents Diane Hopkins-Nickens and Ralph Seymour Henlon. Tragically, she departed from this earthly realm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was preceded in this transition by her beloved Aunt Kotera Jordan and a host of other cherished family members.

Alanna brought an abundance of light into the world from the moment she was born. Her vibrant and outgoing nature defined her from the start. She embarked on her educational journey at Renaissance Elementary before transitioning to Kipp Academy, where she completed her elementary and middle school education. Continuing her academic pursuits at Lincoln High, she displayed exceptional dedication and graduated early from Metropolitan Community College.

Alanna embraced life with a deep passion for freedom and self-expression. Her love for singing and competitive dance, which led her to perform for Lincoln High School, reflected her spirited nature. Despite her youthful exuberance, she possessed remarkable intelligence and wisdom. Alanna found fulfillment in teaching and aiding others, and she maintained a strong commitment to academic excellence, consistently achieving straight A's. Her aspiration to become an OBGYN doctor underscored her dedication to helping others. Alanna was a fervent advocate for peace and believed in living life to the fullest. Her firm belief in the power of words to shape reality demonstrated her profound outlook. Above all, she cherished her family deeply.
