Listen to Obituary

Alfred J. Temple Jr. known to many as “Al Temple”, transitioned from this earth to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2022, at his home in KCMO. Alfred was born September 22, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama to Alfred B. Temple and Fannie B. Temple. Alfred graduated from Hooper High School.

Alfred began work for Research Medical Center as a Housekeeper for 25 years, he also worked for Children Mercy in 2012 until he retired.

Alfred was happily married to Patricia Temple for 10 years.

Alfred was the oldest of 13 children, and to know these 13 Temple children is to love all 13 of them. Being the oldest was a tough job but he did it well.

To know that you have lost two of your loved ones in the same week we know they love and gave their lives to the Lord. So, Uncle Bunkie and Uncle Ray to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We won't say goodbye, we will say, “See you later.” Uncle Bunkie would say “That that there the Bunk”.

Alfred was involved in Palestine Gardens Bible Study courses, where he received several certificates for completing the books of Isaiah and Daniel. May you continue to live and grow in the word. He was also a foster grandparent.

Alfred was preceded in death by his father, Alfred B. Temple; mother, Fannie B. Temple; wife, Patricia Temple; sisters, Shirley Kidd, Stella Temple, Constance Temple, and Belinda Jackson; brothers, Cecil Temple, Bennie Temple, Norris Temple, and Donald Temple; nephews, Deray Temple, and Oscar Temple; great-nephew, Antonio Thompson; and great great-nephew, Baby Mylan.

Alfred will be sadly missed by sister, Ruth Howard; brothers, Hilton Temple, and Tony Temple; brother-in-law, Frank Jackson; and host of nieces and nephews and family and friends.
