Alfred Carlton Mitchell Sr, Beloved son of the late Robert Mitchell Sr and Arie Mitchell was born on June 6, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri. Alfred gained his education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District where he graduated from Lincoln High School and shortly after he proudly joined the U.S. Army. Alfred married the late Nancy Mitchell in 1953. In their union they had six children; Alfred C. Mitchell Jr., Pamela J. Mitchell, Michael D. Mitchell Sr. (Rose), Cynthia A. Withers (Spring Hill, FL.), Brenda J. Foreman and Deborah R. Wilson (Stephen). Alfred joined the U.S Army in 1948 where he studied to be a clerk typist. He proudly fought in the Korean War. After being honorable discharged he was employed at the City Hall as a City clerk for Mayor Willard. He was proceeded in death eight brothers; Robert Jr, Arthur, Obie, Kenneth, Richard, George, Clarence and Claude Mitchell. Four sisters Sevilla, Tolloah, Lucille and Clarice. Two grandsons: Kevin Thompson and Cortez Mitchell. Alfred leaves to cherish his memory all of his children, 21grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren. He was loved and respected by a host of nephew, nieces and friends that he loved as his own.
