Alice Faye Bedford

Alice Faye Bedford, 79, passed away on December 11, 2025, at St Luke's East Hospital, in Lee's Summit, MO. She was born on August 31, 1946, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Mack McKinley Roberts and Katie Helen (Morris) Roberts. 

Alice grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas and graduated from Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After high school Alice relocated the Kansas City, Missouri and began work at Putsch's Cafeteria on the Plaza as a waitress where she worked for several years. Later she worked in the house-keeping industry for a while. She moved on to Palmer Lees Plastics where she worked until the factory closed. Toward the end of her work history when she neared retirement, she worked as a hostess for the International House of Pancakes. Alice later retired and focused her time on family and church. 

Alice liked to visit casinos on occasion; they served as a hub to link up with relatives in and out of town. In the early 60's she married Fred Armer Smith V, who she later divorced. On September 10, 1970, she married Troy Bedford, who she also divorced. Only to re-marry Fred Smith V, who she divorced again. She then remarried Troy Bedford who took ill and she cared for him till he died on March 9, 1984. 

She was preceded into death by her parents, Mack Mckinley Roberts and Katie Helen Roberts; spouse #1, Fred A. Smith V, and spouse # 2, Troy Bedford; her son, Fred Armer Smith Jr. VI, and her sister, Pamela Ruth Rogers. 

Left to cherish Alice's memory: her children: Lafrances L. McDaniels, Tyrone Smith and Derek L. Bedford; her brothers: Mac Roberts, William "Jabo" Roberts, Ross Woody Jr. and Ottis Butler; her sisters: Lorene Little, Carlene Broome, Freda Davis, Minnie Mae Gilreath and Sandra Kaye Henderson; her grandchildren: Fred A. Smith Jr. VII, Yvonnda "Lady Bug" Smith, Montez R. Smith, Ricardo Staley, Demarco Nelson, Taylor Kate Bimbi, Tao Smith and Tylan Smith; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
