Listen to Obituary

Allen Ray Moore, of Kansas City, MO, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 72, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born July 11, 1945 to Clarence and Minnie Moore, in Kansas City, KS. Both of his parents preceded him death. He received his education in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Sumner High School, class of 1964. Soon after his graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served two years. Allen was first stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam, was a Combat Engineer, and received a Purple Heart before his completed service with an honorable discharge. Allen went to work briefly for KU Medical Center, before being hired by the Burlington Northern Railroad, which later merged with Santa Fe Railroad to become Burlington Northern Santa Fe, better known as BNSF. He was employed there for 33 years, before retiring in 2005. Allen was a faithful member of Canaan Worship Center for over twenty years where he served as a Deacon and a Gate Keeper. He was a part of the staff of the Golden Saints Ministry, and also worked in the maintenance department. He could always be found doing something around Canaan Worship Center. Deacon Allen Moore, man of God, son, husband, brother, father, uncle and friend to many, will be truly missed. He enjoyed fixing anything that was broken! He never met a broken anything that he did not try to repair! If he could not fix it, he salvaged parts to use on another of his numerous projects. His true passion was barbecue and he could be found on the grill as early as 5:00 AM, getting his fire ready to smoke a brisket, or grill some ribs for family functions, friends, or just about anyone he thought might enjoy it! His brother Clarence Moore preceded him in death. He leaves many precious memories to be cherished by his wife, Lachelle Moore, one son Ira Moore (Anita) , three daughters Candace Stone, Neva Moore, and Tionna Wilson (Edward). Nine grandchildren, Darius, Ominique, Demond, Jordyn, Keira, Sereena, Javonn, Reagan Reese, and one sister, Yolanda Peeler.
