Alma Jean Walker was born on November 11, 1941, to John and Altha B. (Ladd) Clark in French Bayou, Arkansas.
Alma Jean Walker, 84, departed this life on April 24, 2026, at Research Hospital Center in Kansas City, Missouri
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Walker Sr.; a son, Louis C. Walker Jr.; her parents, John and Altha B. Clark; two sisters, Gussie Harris and Verna Turner; and one brother, Robert Earl Clark.
Alma was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District. She was a dedicated employee of Baptist Medical Center as a Unit Clerk, retiring after 33 years of employment. After retirement, Jean pursued her talent as a seamstress. She was a gifted and dedicated artisan, creating wedding gowns, costumes for dancers and dresses for many others. Jean also served as a cosmetic consultant for Aularale Cosmetics, where she loved helping others look their best just as much as she enjoyed glamming herself. She loved to travel and visited places such as Rhode Island, London, and Paris, among others. Jean was also a skilled nail technician, always ensuring her customers looked and felt their best when they left her shop
Left to cherish Alma's sweet memory: two daughters, Brenda Newsome (John) and Cheryl DeBerry (Mark); two granddaughters, Yolanda Williams and Tamika Buycks (Derrick); two grandsons, Louis F. Williams III (Gina) and Robert L. DeBerry III (Terea); five great-grandchildren: RemyDi Greathouse, Robert L. DeBerry IV, Derrick Buycks Jr., Louis F. Williams IV, and Robynn DeBerry; one great-great-granddaughter, Khole Daniels Buycks; one sister, Mattie R. Clark; one brother, Larry Dale Clark; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
