Andre Jones

Andre’ Craig Jones, 68, passed away Friday, September 30, 2020  in  Kansas City, Missouri.  He was born February 27, 1952 in East St. Louis Illinois, to McKinley Jones and Annie P. Robinson.  He grew up in East St. Louis Illinois and graduated Lincoln Sr. High School in East St. Louis Illinois, he attended University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign and was initiated into Kappa Alpha PSI on May 2, 1971.

Andre’ accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church  in East St. Louis, Illinois and was currently a Deacon of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ, where he served as the Male Chorus Director under the leadership of Rev. Richard J. Clark.

Andre’s occupation was a Union Carpenter for 32 years.  Andre’ was self employed with his company Jones & Jones Construction for 10 years prior to his retirement.  He was preceded in death by his parents McKinley Jones and Annie P. Jones and his brother, McKinley Albert Jones.

Andre’ was survived by his loving wife, Pamela C. Jones of the home.  Children:   Andre’ Brandon Jones, Champaign Illinois; DaShon Kinley Jones (Beth),  Champaign Illinois; Andria Shirlene Rios (Cosme), Chicago, Illinois, two step children Freddie B. Asberry, Jr. (Camica),  Kansas City, Missouri and Priscilla Rayson (Garfield) Chula Vista, California.

He leaves to cherish his memory 11 grandchildren: Olivia Rios, Francesca Rios, Rosalind Rios, Victoria Rios, Brandon Rayson, Kamryn Rayson, Kendyl Rayson, Ryan Asberry, Freshelle Asberry, Luke Asberry and Layla Asberry.  One great-grandson: Nikhil Rayson-Palpallatoc and a host of other relatives and friends.
