Andrew Brown Jr lovingly known as “Big Boy” transitioned from this life on Dec.29,2020 at home. He was born in Belcher, La July 4,1932 to the matrimonial union of Beatrice and Andrew Brown Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents Beatrice “Martin” Brown & Andrew Brown Sr., a son Ottolas Brown, grandchildren Keenion Sanders, Sa’Keena Kyle and Scarlett Neely. Annie Lee, Bevlan, Shirley, Fred, R.T., Ranaoald and Aaron Brown.
He moved to Shreveport, LA at a young age. He gave his life to Christ at a young age at Bryants Temple in Shreveport, La. He made the decision at a young age to be a provider for his family. So he dropped out of school in the 3rd grade to help his mother on the Farm. He moved to Kansas City in 1952 with his Uncle Grady. He started working immediately at the Folly Theatre and the Inferno. He worked at Marion Laboratories for 20 years and retiring. This is where his Love for the Kansas City Royals began. Andrew was a huge fan of the Kansas City Royals. He was super excited to see them win their 2nd World Series in 2015. He held many jobs over the years. The last one was at Marriot Hotel in downtown Kansas City retiring again after 10 years there. He enjoyed working on cars. He loved going to Bingo, playing Tunk, solitaire and his favorite was playing Dominoes. You knew you was about to get beat when he started saying “OHHHH MYYY GOOODDDNNNEEESSSS” He taught so many of us this game. He loved all sports but watching the Kansas City Royals no matter their record was his favorite past time. He enjoyed being a provider for his family and friends. Driving to take you to work ,school, the doctors office or just to the gas station.
He leaves to mourn his children Michael Williams of KC, Andrea Williams of FL, B. Michelle Kyle of KC, Lela Kyle of Independence. Siblings Willie (Lo) Brown of Shreveport, Charles Ray Brown of Shreveport, Doris Ann (Herman) TX, Grandchildren Antonio (Angel) Williams, Felecia Neely, Andre Sanders, Montell Kyle, Dominique Embry, Ma’Lik Kyle, Sa’Reena Kyle, J’Mauri Williams. 17 great grandchildren. Aunt Addie Conway, cousin Grady ”Tip” Boxly, a longtime friend Elizabeth Mackey, Russel Mackey who he’s shared a close father/son like bond with. We would like to give a Special Thank you to Nancy Matthews whom he also shared bond with for caring for him in his final days with us. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends.
