Annette was born May 9,1960, in Chicago, IL to Jimmy and the late Mable Barnes. She was the second of her mother’s three children.
Annette attended Lucy Flowers High School and dreamt of one day becoming a sign language teacher. After high school, Annette later went on to work at the South Water Market in the 1980’s for a few years.
In 1988, Annette met Odell Hill, the love of her life, in Chicago, Il and they have been stuck together ever since. In 1991 she had her first daughter Shenell at 30 years old (Annette always thought she couldn’t have any kids). Minneapolis, Minnesota became her home in 1992, Tee and Odell had their second daughter Shanice, and they resided there for 12 years.
In 2004, Annette and her family moved to Kansas City, MO for a better life and opportunities. She enjoyed working for Compassionate Care LLC as a direct support staff member until she retired in 2009.
In 2010, Annette had her first grandchild and was so happy to have a grandson – he was her Big Boy. She enjoyed playing with all six of her grandchildren, helping raise and teaching them. She was very crazy about her grandkids, and you better be careful what you did or said when it came to “her kids” as she would say.
Annette is preceded in death by her mother Mable Barnes and brother Anthony “Boo” Barnes.
To cherish her memories she leaves her children, Shenell and Shanice Barnes, grandchildren; Na’Rasia Scott, Da’Variaye Barnes, Marcus Franklin Jr, La’Nayia Walls, A’Shiyah Barnes, Lundyn’Skye Williams, her Life Partner, Odell Hill, her sister Alicia Barnes, nieces; Chiquita, Jaquese, and Asia, nephews; Anthony “Lee”, Anthony “Tony” along with a host of family and friends.
