Anthony Monte' Douglas, affectionately known as “Tony,” was born on October 16, 1972, to the union of Ronnell Douglas and Phyllis Jean (Logan) Douglas. His loving mother preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his grandmother, Ella Logan, and his brother, Brian Garner.

Tony attended school in the Kansas City Missouri School District and proudly graduated from Paseo High School; Class of 1990. He carried the bonds of friendship and the lessons from those years with him throughout his life, never losing touch with the friends who became like family.

Grounded in faith, Tony was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where he drew strength and peace from God’s word.

Tony peacefully departed this life on October 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, just two days shy of his 53rd birthday. Though his earthly journey ended too soon, his light continues to shine through the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind.

From childhood, Tony had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. His sense of humor was his superpower, quick, clever, and full of that trademark “Tone Bone” charm that could brighten any day. To know Tony was to love him and to laugh, often until your stomach hurt. His mischievous grin, playful side-eye, and easygoing spirit made him unforgettable.

At one point in time, Tony was blessed to experience Holy Matrimony. He and SheRekka Scott were united in marriage on February 28, 2015, and to this union, a son was born, Aarlon Scott-Douglas. Although their marriage was later dissolved in June 2020, their bond remained strong, and they shared a deep friendship and had plans to remarry.

Tony was once an employee of Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors, where he diligently served in several roles as an excellent Funeral Attendant. His professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail reflected his genuine care for people during their most difficult time. He later took great pride in his work as a driver for a transportation and logistics company. He loved the open road, the freedom, the peace, and the opportunity to meet new people and hear their stories. His coworkers knew him as reliable, funny, and always willing to lend a hand.

Before his health declined, the gym was Tony’s sanctuary. He was a true “gym rat,” dedicated and disciplined. Fitness for Tony wasn’t just about appearance - it was about strength, peace, and pushing himself to be better every day. Outside of work and the gym, Tony’s favorite place was anywhere his family and friends were. He lived for those moments, laughing over dinner, watching the game, telling stories, or just vibing on a Sunday afternoon.

During his hospital stays, Tony was blessed to have the unwavering love and care of his life partner, SheRekka, and his sister, Rhonda, who ensured he made every appointment and felt supported through it all. Their devotion brought him comfort during his toughest days. Other family members also stood in the gap whenever they could, offering their time, prayers, and support, reminding Tony that he was never alone on his journey.

And then there was Yoyo, his loyal companion and fur baby. The two were inseparable. During a hospital visit, when Yoyo came to see him, Tony’s face lit up with the biggest smile, a beautiful reflection of the love and bond they shared. She will definitely miss his presence.

Tony leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Antonia Douglas and Gelly Douglas; his sons, Anthony Douglas Jr. and Aarlon Scott-Douglas; his father, Ronnell Douglas; his sisters: Rhonda Davis (Martae), Shekeela Douglas, Nina Dawkins, Nakita Fuqua, Lavanda Vanoy, and Teya Bradley; his brothers: Reese Fisher, Ronnell Garner (Kimberly), Marlon Dawkins (Chalonda), Vonnell Dawkins, and Kevin Rodgers; and the mother of his son Aarlon and life partner to the very end, SheRekka Scott. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever carry his light within them.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever “Tone Bone.”
