Anthony Charles Evans, Sr. was born February 20, 1966, to Geraldine Sanders and Hugh Smith. Anthony lived in Kansas City, Missouri all of his life. He attended Nelson Elementary School, and Bingham Jr. High School. He graduated from Southwest High School.
Anthony professed his love for Jesus Christ at a very young age, he also sang in the choir. He joined and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas under his mentor and pastor, the late Rev. David L. Gray, whom he loved and wanted so much to be like him at the time (LOL).
Anthony started his professional career with the state as a behavioral health provider, where he worked for 20 years. He then started his own business selling medical supplies. He also worked for the Kansas City Star at the same time. After some years he began working for Amazon and then Chewy.
Anthony departed this life on November 30, 2022. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 30 years, whom he loved with all his heart, Consuelo Rena Hampton; his son, Anthony A. Evans Jr. He also leaves two stepdaughters, Tajay Whatley, and Jessica Wiggins; two stepsons, Charles Whatley, and Brian Evans; and twin granddaughters, who were his world, Aijay, and Aisja Byrd.
Anthony also leaves to cherish his precious memories his beautiful mother, Geraldine Sanders; and his stepdad, Aaron Sanders, who preceded him in death; two sisters, April Evans, and Joann Evans; two brothers, Ben Evans, and Johnny (Belva) Evans; his only uncle, Johnny Evans; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
Anthony, who we all called Tony, was the glue that kept the family together. He was the peace maker, the lawyer, and the “go to” guy for any information that you needed. He was the one to get it for you and make stuff happen. Anthony loved his loved ones unconditionally. He was a great husband and an awesome father, grandfather, a loving son and brother, and the best uncle and friend you could ever have in life. Anthony’s heart was as bright and gold and it shined every day, every holiday and birthday. Anthony was very much loved and will be very much missed by all who knew him.
