Anthony Hancock, 59 (aka, “Han”) was born on March 21, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Anthony Hancock Jr., preceding him in peace, and Susie Hancock-Doyle.
Anthony received his education in the public schools of Kanas City, Missouri, and was a proud member of the 1983 Southeast High School graduating class.
On February 13, 1992, Anthony united in marriage to Angela Seward and, from this union, two children were born. Though their union dissolved later in life, Angela and Anthony remained close friends.
Anthony was joined later in life by his partner Elisa Lewis, who stayed by his side until his departure.
As an avid driving enthusiast, Anthony took many jobs that allowed him to drive throughout the city before earning his Commercial Driving License (CDL) and starting his over-the-road trucking journey with Marten Transport. Through his work in the trucking industry, Anthony made a significant impact not only on his local community but also on the nation by delivering essential goods that kept the country running. He was constantly amazed at the beauty and wonder of the nation and would talk for hours about the things he’d seen on his journeys.
Anthony was an avid movie watcher - constantly entertaining his family and friends with retellings of his favorite scenes and characters. He was an extrovert who enjoyed entertaining those around him and would make an attempt to show his face at any event he was invited to.
Anthony had an affinity for the design, maintenance, and upkeep of cars. Washing his car or the cars of those he cared about was a form of relaxation for him.
Anthony took pride in the accomplishments of his children and granddaughter - moving heaven and earth to ensure he was there to celebrate them.
During his free time, Anthony could be found at his daddy’s house managing his garage sales or up early at Swap and Shop to find a deal.
He rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of District Tilden Trotter, Jr of Calvary Temple Community Church.
Anthony departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024 – marking the end of an incredible era.
He leaves to cherish precious memories of his life, his sisters, Ardrae Hancock–Montgomery of Dallas, Texas, and Angela Hancock Brown (Gordon Brown) of Kansas City, Missouri; his children, Keisha Frazier, his baby girl Amber (Joshua Washington); Anthony Hancock, his only son; his precious granddaughter, Ava Warren, who was the light of his life; his nieces, Shalaunda Pierce and Jordan Brown; his great niece Summer Wilson; and a host of relatives and friends.
His family gave him the strength to face adversity and brought him joy and laughter. Anthony was passionately proud of the legacy he would leave behind for his loved ones to cherish.
