Anthony T. Hicks departed this life on March 30, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was born on October 31, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri to Mark Hayes, Sr., and Dora Alice Hicks.  He grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area.

He is preceded in death by his father who raised him, Earnest Jones, Sr; his mother, Dora Alice Hicks; his grandmothers, Fannie Hicks and Gladys Camine; four uncles, Richard Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, Charles Jones, Sr, and William Jones; three aunts, Rosie Hicks, Lola Razor, and Lonze Pierce; brother, Ronald Turner; sister, RaeMikel Vaughn; cousins, Derrick Pettit, Harold (Tee) Ervin, Carletta Higgs, Andre Jones, and Ebony “Starr” Jones.

Anthony Hicks, known as Kill Dogg, Killa to family and friends, and anyone who knew him.  He graduated from Westport High School.  He went to work at the Kansas City Star for 29 years before the relocated to Des Moines.  He later went to work for Niagara Bottling Inc., until the Lord called him home.

Killa enjoyed watching ESPN Sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers.  He also enjoyed hanging out with his family.  He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, father, uncle, and cousin. He was one of the “Realist.” He enjoyed crablegs with his daughter on their Daddy Daughter dates every week.  He also enjoyed hanging out with his grandmother.  Killa will be missed by many, specially arguing with his family and friends about his San Francisco 49ers.

His memories will be cherished by his loving daughter, AnTinque “Punkin” Hicks; his sons, Reggie (Robyn) Gant, and Ra’Mond Taylor, Sr., of Kansas City, Missouri; his forever friend, Angela Taylor; his grandmother, Dollie Hayes of Kansas City, Missouri; his brothers, Earnest Turner, Kenyon Jones, and Mark Hayes, Jr., of Kansas City, Missouri; his sisters, Tamika Boyd, Ashley Walker, and Charlie Hinton of Kansas City, Missouri; his tow favorite cousin/brothers, Aaron “Joe Joe” (Cherise) Hicks and Roosevelt (Roe) Franklin; aunts, LaTanya Hicks, Jennifer (Joseph) Beckham of Kansas City, Missouri, and Regina Jones of Chamblee, Georgia; his uncles, Daniel Jones, Darrell (Darlyn) Jones of Kansas City, Missouri, Carl (Teldra) Jones of Palm Coast, Florida, and Milton Jones of Grady, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Ro’Mond Taylor, Jr., Nur Taylor, Rafiq Taylor, Mila Taylor, Max Miliano Taylor, Royalty Gant, Royce Gant, and Raquell Harris; god-daughter, Precious King; best friend of many years, George Parker of Tucson, Arizona, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
