On December 26, 1954, a baby boy was born, the first of three children to the union of Katherine and Arthur W. (AW) Richardson Sr. and, was named Arthur (Arthie) Webster Richardson, Jr. Arthie joined his older siblings, Mabel Jean, Chalmers Lee, John Lee and Barbara Neil in what was to become a seven-sibling family. Arthie received his education in the Kansas City Public School District, attending Central High School. He furthered his education at the University of Missouri, graduating with an Associate Degree in Business and soon after, relocated to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul), Minnesota in 1986 where he worked in the hotel business until his health declined. Arthie professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church. Arthie, who was known by family and close friends as "Sport-life", was very outgoing, with a lifelong love of family and was a committed friend to all (especially with his childhood friends). He had no children of his own, but he impacted the lives of his sibling's children in a positive way as a beloved father figure to all his nieces and nephews. Arthie had a zest for life and loved taking pictures with family and friends and sharing his photos with everyone. He also enjoyed meeting people and sharing life stories with everyone he met. Arthie was also known for his keen fashion sense. He was a true gentleman and always made you laugh with his unique laugh. The joy and dedication that he showed to family and friends was evident to all. Arthie's summons came on the morning of Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home in Bloomington, MN where he responded to the call for eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chalmers and John Davis, and two sisters, Mabel Davis and Barbara Davis Luke. Arthie leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Rayphuf "Stevie" Richardson of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Denise "Dee Dee" Richardson of Kansas City, MO; one uncle, Kenneth Richardson of Kansas City, MO; one sister-in-law, Samella Davis of Minneapolis, MN; many nephews, nieces, great nephews/nieces, great-great nephews/nieces; numerous cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends who all mourn his loss. Those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Arthie will truly be missed by his family and many friends. He was one of the BEST!
