Barbara Jean Downton

Barbara Jean “Bobby” Downton, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at her home in Kansas City, MO. Born on September 4, 1935, she is preceded in death by both parents Christine Williams (Kansas City, MO) and Taft Dydel (Leavenworth, KS), one daughter, Denise Marie Downton (Kansas City, MO), one granddaughter Takeisha Lawana Downton (Kansas City, MO) and two husbands Fred Downton and John White both of Kansas City, MO. She is survived by six daughters: Maureen Downton of Springfield, MO, Vanessa Wrench (Morris), Sharon Kirby, Etta Downton and Cynthia Turner, all of Kansas City, MO and Michelle Gilchrist (Chester) of Memphis, TN. She is the grandmother of eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in memory of Barbara Downton to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
