Barbara Taylor, 65 years of age, passed away on January 16, 2022, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO surrounded by her husband.
She was the 3rd of 4 children born to Charlie Bradley and Ollie Flowers.
Barbara attended school in the Kansas City MO school district. She graduated from Central High School class of 1975.
Barbara began her journey with Christ at an early age at the Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Williams. She later moved her membership to Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the then leadership of her stepfather the late Pastor Flowers. She would later return to her roots at Prince of Peace until her passing.
She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 15 years as a PCT. In 2001 she started her own in-home daycare, Grandma T’s until 2008. Then later she worked in before and after care at Hartman Elementary School.
Who would’ve known that after being born in the same hospital, on the same day, and growing up together in church that years later Barbara would marry Robert Taylor on June 16, 1984 and they would remain happily married for 38 years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father; both maternal and paternal grandparents; and one granddaughter, Michaella Baker.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert Taylor; mother, Ollie Flowers; 2 daughters, Schontell Harlin, and Robbie Baker; 2 granddaughters, DyNiesha Harlin, and Lee’Andra Harlin; 3 grandsons, James Sampson III, Michael Baker, and Montrae Austin; 5 great-grandchildren, Montario Patterson, Ka’Miya Coleman, Nailah Jones, Za’ Niyah Jones, and Armia Sampson; 1 sister, Mary (Benny) Smith; 2 brothers, Billy (Betty) Bradley, and Michael (Mayumi) Bradley; 2 godchildren, Marcus Brown, and Maya Odam; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.
