Listen to Obituary

Belinda Fay Patton was welcomed into this world on September 19, 1969, by her parents Fred and Linda Patton.  Belinda, or as she is affectionately known as "Fay", was known for her kind spirit, generosity, creativity, caring nature and her overwhelming love for family and friends.

Fay accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1989 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.B. Randolph. She would later join Refreshing Waters Worship Center under the leadership of Sr. Pastor Frank King in 2019.  Fay loved God and was a true prayer warrior.

Fay graduated with honors from Southeast High School in May 1987 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.  It was there in 1992, that she was initiated as a General Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, under the supervision of the Beta Omega Chapter, in Kansas City, MO. After leaving NWSU she began working at Transamerica Life Insurance Company, and remained employed for fifteen years, until the company relocated. She began working for Convergys Corporation and worked there for several years as a Sr. Account Supervisor before accepting a position at UMB Bank as an Online Banking Specialist. She was a dedicated employee that loved spoiling her co-workers with treats like her famous banana pudding. Fay was the first to celebrate life's milestones and events for anyone.

As time went on, she would meet Carl Stevenson, her forever soulmate and would welcome two children, Bryce Jaylen Patton-Stevenson (December 1995) and Breanna Symone Patton-Stevenson (December 1996) whom she raised with love and gave her all for 26 years.

Fay was active in the Southeast High School Alumni Association.  She formed the “Salad Sisters” club to empower and encourage her family and friends along their wellness journey.  She loved taking pictures and creating collages to capture each moment and staying connected with family and friends on Facebook and Instagram.

Fay gained her wings on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Fay was the glue that always kept the family bonded together through things like family game nights, bowling, and of course the annual Patton family 'Christmas in July' celebration.

She leaves to cherish her memories; two children, Bryce and Breanna; soulmate Carl Stevenson; her parents, Fred and Linda Patton; her sister Denise Hayes (Gary), her first best-friend/brother Frederick Patton (Sister-In-Love LaTanya), and sister Yolanda Patton; seven nieces and three nephews who she also cherished like her own; two great nieces and her beloved fur baby, Cookie. Close friends: Cynthia Jones, Kristi Gaylord Lacy, Steve Godwin, Tyra Woodley, and Pamela Westbrooks-Hodge as well as a host of family and friends.

Fay’s memories and legacy is rooted in the hearts of all who love her and will live on forever.
