Bertha M. Shaw

Our Beloved mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother

Mrs. Bertha M. Clegg-Shaw was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 18, 1947, and was the only living child of Charles A. Clegg and Ruth M. Clegg.  Bertha grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and worked for the Kansas City School District as a monitor for the transportation department.

She attended Church of the Living God.  Bertha had four daughters: Dellorie A. Clegg, Carla A. Shaw, Renee B. Shaw, and Donella R. A. Shaw-Bell; eleven grandsons, five granddaughters, and a host of great grandchildren. She loved her daughter Levee no matter what, she was her girl. Bertha loved all her daughters. We were all different. No matter what path we took, she still loved us unconditionally. Bertha was a great mother, Billy was her companion and her confidant, and Joanne Carter was her best friend; they were more like sisters.

Bertha was married to Lloyd K. Shaw. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee B. Shaw. She is survived by her children Dellorie A. Clegg, Carla A. Shaw, Donella R.A. Shaw-Bell, eleven grandsons, five granddaughters and a host of great grandchildren.
