Betty J. Byrd was born on November 16, 1933, in Dallas, Texas to Herbean Williams, and Mattie Spence.  She grew up in the Ft. Worth, Texas area.

She graduated from Lincoln High School. and attended Junior College in Kansas City, Missouri.  She worked at Hallmark Cards, City Hall, Mobil Oil, Woodland School, and Martin Luther King Hospital, as well as others.

She was involved with the Players Cards Club for many years and made numerous friends.

She married Benjamin Byrd on May 2, 1981.  They were happily married for 44 years.  She professed Christ at an early age and has faithfully served Him throughout her lifetime.  She was a member of Memorial Church International, and New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church.

She knew no stranger.  She had love, and a hug for everyone.  She was a very sweet woman, and a rare gem. She touched many hearts with her generous cooking and giving; always thinking about others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Maurice and Timothy.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Benjamin Byrd; two sons, Eugene Booker, and Aaron Booker (Kathy W); two daughters, Brenda Williams (Chuck), and Melissa Turner (Karlton), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
