Betty Nelson Henderson

Betty Joe Nelson-Henderson was born March 10, 1957 in Kansas City, Mo. to Odell Sr. and Erma Nelson . She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age at Memorial Baptist Church.

Betty graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City, Mo. She began working immediately after high school. She was employed at Dit-maco International for 4yrs.  She transitioned to her career with the City Of Kansas City Water Department. She worked there for over 30 years and was currently working there until her departure. Betty was an active Union member of Afscme Local 500. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and fiancé.

Betty is preceded in death by her son Reginald Allen, grandparents Lewis and Julian Barnett, parents; Odell Sr. and Erma Nelson, nieces; Precious Dunnell, Dominique Nelson and Iyonna Nelson, nephews; Dominique Nelson, Isiac Nelson Jr., and Elijah Dunnell- Kelly.

Betty departed this life on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter LaTeak Harbin (Kevin); fiancé Carl Wilson Sr. two step-sons; Carl Wilson Jr. and Jeremy Wilson five brothers; Salik Rashid (Lisa), Isiac Nelson Sr., Ricky Nelson, Robert Nelson, and James Nelson (Tamika), two sisters; Sea Bell Dunnell (Kevin) and Cynthia Nelson, four grandsons;  Zion Allen, Ky’Ree Harbin, Khalil Harbin, and Ke’Lin Harbin, one granddaughter; Za’Rya Allen; and host of family and friends.
