Beverly Ann Davenport was born February 17, 1961 to Irvin N. McGee and Iola J. McGee-Haynes. Beverly was escorted from earth to heaven on Monday, December 14, 2020.
Beverly and her siblings, Janette (Elaine) Ricky, Tony and Keith grew up in Wyandotte County, KS. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School Class of 1979 (Bulldogs). Beverly was united in marriage to John T. Davenport, Sr. (Little John) on September 27, 1986 and happily married for 35 years, and to this union one son John T. Davenport, Jr.
Beverly and John were baptized together at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church where they both joined and remained faithful members. Beverly served in the choir and truly enjoyed showing her God given gift of hospitality in the kitchen at Union Hill. She enjoyed cooking and preparing large meals for her family along with laughing and dancing and just being the life of all family gatherings. We call that the “Package Deal”. Beverly was always good for a laugh and a good time, that’s a package she would always deliver. Beverly began working for USD 500 as a Nutritional Food Service Manager where she worked for 27 years until her health failed, but she continued to work as a servant of God as she remained dedicated to the calling on her life to be a true blessing with her hands by preparing meals for children at several schools in the Wyandotte County Metropolitan area, Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and dedicating her time, services and resources to several charities in the Wyandotte County Metropolitan area. She was preceded in death by her parents Iola McGee-Haynes and Irvin McGee along with her sister Janette Lowery.
