Mrs. Blanche Sims, 76 of Grandview, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2024.

Blanche Pouncil was born on December 16,1947 to Edward Eugene Pouncil Sr. and Bertha Raglin Pouncil in Kansas City, MO who preceded her death along with her Loving Husband Willie Sims; Brothers, Edward Pouncil, Carl Pouncil, Alfred Lee Pouncil, Marcellus Pouncil, Darrell Pouncil, Edward Eugene Pouncil Jr., Theotis Pouncil; Sister, Dorothy Mae Baird, and Sister in-law Lois Pouncil.

Blanche grew up in KC Leeds Community. She attended Dunbar Elementary School, and later graduated from Central High School Class of 1966. She began her career at AT&T, and shortly after she decided to advance her career at Ford Motor Company where she retired after over 30 years of loyal service.

Blanche was married to the Love of her Life Willie Sims for over 30 years. She loved spending her time with him before his passing.

Blanche gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Second Baptist Church, KCMO, under the pastorate of Dr. David O. Shipley, Sr.. Blanche was a loyal and faithful member of the Relief Workers Club, B.T.H.&H. Club (Birthday, Travel, Health, and Happiness), 4PM Bible Study, Social Service Ministry, and she served diligently and faithfully as an Usher for many years. Blanche had a desire to help young girls succeed and financially supported the church Girl Scout program during its existence. She also served on several Church Anniversary and Homecoming committees. Blanche was known for her delicious baked goods and she enjoyed preparing them for the church family.

Blanche, who was known as the “The Cake Lady” at Ford, she enjoyed feeding and baking for Church Events, work, friends, and family gatherings. She baked cakes, pies, homemade rolls, cookies, and her famous cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed watching westerns, Turner classics, her KC Chiefs, shopping, cooking, fishing, gardening, and just celebrating life with her family, friends and church family.

Blanche was also a loving Grandma who adored all her grandchildren. She often used her favorite words “ My Right hand to God,” and “That’s all I can tell you” while sharing her life’s wisdom with you. Blanche had a Classy,  and Sassy personality that blended beautifully with her sense of style and luxurious smell, it screamed sophistication always turning heads when she entered a room. She had an infectious smile, a generous heart, and a pleasant spirit that was noticed by all. She was truly loved and will be missed tremendously.

Blanche leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son Larence Garrison III (Renee); Willie Davidson, Pamela Davidson, Karla Settles, LaTisha Thomas, Brothers of KCMO Freddie Pouncil, Bernard Pouncil (Linda), Earnest Pouncil (Katherine) of GilChrist, OR; Sister of KCMO Yvonne Meade (Leroy); Four Sister-in-laws JoAnn Pouncil, Sherry Pouncil, Denise Pouncil, Juanita Gordon; Five Grandchildren Ernest L.Campbell Sr. (Roshanna), Robert Crowe, Victor Austin, Niresha Garrison, Larence Garrison IV, Special friends Betty Stevenson, Carrie King Martin, and Charles Carter; a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
