Bonnie J. Reed

Mrs. Bonnie J. Reed was born on November 22, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, to Evangeline Gregory and Harry Barnes.  She transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Kansas University Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, son: Malik Estelle, and brothers: Gregory D. Gregory and Donald Barnes Sr.

Bonnie was educated in the public school system of Newark New Jersey.  In July of 1975 Bonnie moved to Kansas City, MO with her family.  Bonnie studied at Penn Valley Community College.  Bonnie accepted the Lord at an early age in Newark New Jersey.

On November 20, 1976 Bonnie gave birth to her son, Terrell, that was the happiest day of her life.  Bonnie met and fell in love with Herbert Reed and they married on March 18, 2000.  Bonnie was a model and she loved to dress up and she loved her make-up.  Bonnie had a laugh that you would never forget and a smile that would hold you forever.  Bonne worked for the City of Kansas City, MO from May 18, 1985 to October 29, 2020 when she retired.  Bonnie was a member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Julius Sr. and Rickey Rambo.  On march 1, 2017 Bonnie welcomed her first grandchild, Terielle, that was a very blessed day, her very own baby doll who she could dress up and play in make-up with.  "BB was her name"

She leaves to cherish her special memories, her husband: Herbert Reed of the home, son: Terrell Estelle of the home, daughter: Pamela Terry (Carl) of  Tomball, TX,

sister: Derris Silas(Ulysses) of Eustis, FL, grand-daughters: Terielle Estelle and Essence Terry, grandson: Carl Terry Jr., two special cousins: Betti Childress and Artis Smith, nieces: Dorrice (Rodney), Darnette (Leonard), Brenda (Henry), Kwanza (Jermaine), Kahadija (Antwan), nephews: Donald (Tiffany), Karriem (Samantha) and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
