Brenda A. Chatman

Brenda Chatman, 76, passed away on July 20, 2024, at home, in Independence, MO. She was born in Kansas City, KS. to George Chatman and Mildred Shelby-Andrews.

She grew up in the Kansas City, MO. Metro area. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Kansas City, MO.

She worked many years at Tension Envelopes and retired from the Federal Office Building.

She was proceeded in death by her father George Chatman and her mother Mildred Shelby-Andrews, stepfather Richard Andrews, Jr., daughter Carla Chatman, her brother Richard “Richie” Andrews, sister Ritha Hergins, maternal grandparents Emmitt and Helen Shelby, godmother Albertine Cann, and nephew Cecil Shelby.

She is survived by son Carl (Hailey) Chatman, son Dujuan Chatman, sisters: Sharon Shelby, Glenda “Punch” Tuggle, Rita Andrews, favorite niece Denice “Nicey” Shelby-Anderson, grandchildren: Carl Chatman-Molina and Maricela Molina, 2 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
