Brenda Hogan was born in Rinson, Arkansas to Henry Poplar and Sarah Ann Marshall. Brenda at 10 years old moved to Star City, Arkansas after the death of her mother. Brenda went to Lincoln High School in Star City, Arkansas. In 1972 Brenda married Leo Hogan and to this union was one child, a son, Taiwan Demonte Hogan. Leo Hogan and Brenda Hogan were married for 30 years. Brenda later married Birdell McCall and they were married for 22 years.
Brenda moved to Kansas City in 1972 where she was employed by the Kansas City, Missouri School District for 30 years as a teaching instructor until she retired in 2016. She then went to work for the Emmanuel Family Child Development Center for 5 years. Brenda loved seeing children learn. After her longstanding career in education, Brenda decided to work in health care for Above and Beyond Health Care.
Preceding Brenda in death were her mother, Sarah Ann Marshall, grandmother Buried Lee Marshall, Liz Harden, grandfather Andrew Marshall, aunt Martha Ann Marshall, uncles Andrew Marshall Jr., Joe Marshall, and Robert Marshall.
Brenda is survived by one son, Taiwan Demonte Hogan, Scottie Scott, Cornell Jones and his wife, Mattie Jones, grandchildren Davion Hogan, Briana Hogan, Andrea Jacoway, Tavion Hogan, Essence Blake, Laqwan Hogan and Thailand Hogan, nephews, Pastor Mike Carroll, Tyrone Jones, and Markies Jones, and her nieces Raeshida Williams and Natasha Goldman.
