Brenda Joyce Mckinney

Brenda Mckinney, 77, passed away on March 27,2023, ad the home of Steven A. Brunson, and wife Denise Brunson in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born August 29,1945,  to Jeremiah Lenley, and Bessie Lee Lenley.

She attended Manual Highschool in Kansas City, Missouri. Brenda accepted Christ at an early age. She met and became friends with Robert Lee Mckinney, and they were later married on August 30, 1980, and to this union was born D. Laron Mckinney(Charles A. Lenley). They were married for 34 years. Robert preceded her in death on July 4, 2015.

She attended Blankinship School of Cosmetology. She received her cosmetology license from the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology and went on to open “Brenda's Hair Salon”. She also was employed with “National Quick Weight Loss” where she appeared in one of their nationwide commercials. She was heavily involved her church and worked with the State Youth Department, and Music Department.  She was also  a member of the B & R Troupe, where the late Brenda Rivette was the founder and director.

Brenda had an “Unofficial Women’s Ministry” where she helped women from all walks of life, and led them to Christ and would tarry with them to help them receive the Holy Ghost. She did whatever she could for her friends and family to help them succeed in life. She was a true praiser and loved to worship God in her own unique way. Her praise, worship, and singing was contagious. She did what she could to help the ministry wherever she was.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, and husband. She is survived by her two sons, six grandchildren, and great-grandson.
