Brenda Lee VonLeggett (Cookie) 76, passed away on June 19th, 2024, at her son’s home in Raytown, Mo. She was born on March 6th, 1948, in Kansas City, MO to Mr. Elijah Taylor Jr. & Othell S. Taylor

Brenda (cookie) grew up in Kansas City, Mo graduating from Central High School in 1966. Where she was employed by the Housing Authority then later as an Accountant with Camp Fire. Shortly after changing careers to the IRS in 1987 where she devoted 28 years of service to the Government then Retiring in 2015.

After graduating from Central High School Brenda married William O. VonLeggett where they had a son. She devoted all her time and energy to raising her son. After her divorce she became her son’s Coach, his cheerleader and was a passionate advocate for his success. Brenda (cookie) knew no stranger and had the ability to connect with nearly anyone. Her strong and caring personality along with her kind and generous spirit attracted others who often just wanted to be in her presence and soak up the wonderful energy she had even when she was not feeling her best.

Brenda (cookie) enjoyed all three of her lovely granddaughters and wanted the very best for them. She supported everything they did, all activities and really enjoyed   traveling with them when she could. If she could help make their lives easier, she did just that if it was within her power.

Brenda (cookie) is survived by her son, Byron VonLeggett and his wife Khorea VonLeggett her three sisters Elizabeth Sayers-Smith, Annette Taylor-Martin, and Cynthia J. Taylor-Lee. Grandchildren Jazmyne Williams and her husband Demon Williams, Jade VonLeggett and David Robinson, and Brooklyn VonLeggett, Great Grand Children Armon Williams, Derron Williams, Jaylen Williams, Ivory Williams and Izaiah Williams and Greyson VonLeggett along with a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and other relatives.
