Byron Harris

Byron Harris made his transition, June 25, 2017.Byron was born December 2, 1967 to the union of the late Clarence E and Teresa Y Harris. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1986. He participated in and loved all sports.

He was united in marriage to Demetria Roe in July 2001. This union was later dissolved. He was an over the road trucker, working for various trucking companies and owning his own rig and company B Harris Trucking, Inc. He was employed by Transcorr Trucking until his health began to fail.

He also genuinely enjoyed sports, eating, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Byron was a strong Christian and was diligent in his faith. He touched the lives of and was deeply loved by many. His infectious smile, laugh and non complaining spirit exemplified his faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his brother Shannon L Harris. He leaves to cherish his memory: His sons Byron Harris, Jr. (St Louis MO), Jeffery Harris, daughter Catera Pryor, brothers James and Eric Harris, sister Mary Smith, nephews Darrell Smith, D’ Ante Harris, and Andre Johnson, nieces Kierra Harris, Bre’Shawna Harris and Mi’An’Drell Johnson all of the city, best friend/brother Verne Thompson, special friend Charlotte D Jones and a host of family, friends and classmates.
