Calvin Boyles, Sr.

Calvin Lamont Boyles, Sr, 45, passed away on November 28, 2023. He was born on February 23, 1978, in Kansas City, Missouri to Artis Grigsby and Billie Jean Hollinger. Calvin grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Westport High School in 1996. After high school, Calvin worked as a Cell Phone Repairman at a local cell phone store. He later began a career in carpentry as an independent contractor, completing various jobs throughout the city. Calvin even started his own carpentry company, “Money Worth Work.” Calvin was a “jack of all trades,” he could build you a deck, repair your car, or even fix your television if you needed. Calvin was a loving man who loved and enjoyed being around. Calvin enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. His calm spirit made it easy to be in his presence.

As a youth, Calvin attended C.P.W.W.O.C. and accepted Christ at an early age. Calvin later joined Maranatha Family Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor, Bishop Lester C. Jones where he served as a Deacon.

Calvin married Vivian Boyles on April 14, 2014, in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for nearly 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dorothy Mae Taylor-Jasper and Theoplues Johnny Taylor, Sr; paternal grandparents, Rosie Lee and Artis Grigsby; father, Artis Grisgby, Sr; brother, Charles E. Taylor; and nephew, Lonell Boyles III.

He is survived by his mother, Billie Jean Hollinger (Robert); his wife, Vivian Boyles; children, Keaira, Teaira, Calin, Calvin Jr., Lauren, Jabez, Sir Lamont, Tangela, Calvion, Odell, Delisha, Jacquan, Rodney, Jacque, Markees, Belinda, and Robynn; four brothers, Lonell Boyles Jr. (Gwenette), Artis Grigsby, Jr., LeArtis Grigsby, and Daniel, twenty-four grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
