It is with deep sadness yet profound love that we celebrate the life of Calvin Drew Walker, affectionately known as "Danny Boy" and "Dog." Calvin was born on December 13, 1962, to Raymond and Selestean Walker in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the youngest of seven siblings and grew up in the Leeds district. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Walker, his daughter Mikila Lewis, his grandson DeMarkus Hafiz, his nephew Shawn Toombs, his cousin/brother Kenneth Robinson, his friend/brother Shannon Moore.
He attended school in the Kansas City District.
Calvin embraced his faith and accepted Christ at an early age.
He was known for his impeccable sense of fashion and his love for luxury cars, especially Cadillacs and Lincoln Town Cars, as well as his passion for Harley Davidson and Kawasaki motorcycles. He was a proud member of the Kaw Boys Motorcycle Club. Calvin’s life was marked by his adventurous spirit and love for the open roads. In his earlier years, he rode and owned a horse and was an active member of the Hilltop Riding Club.
Calvin was a ‘true jack’ of all trades. With his Master skill as a Carpenter, and by his ability to repair anything around the house. His talents on the BBQ grill were his only match. He was also known for his loud pipes and the wild, free spirit of a biker, but above all, he was a man who deeply loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Calvin made his earthly transition on Saturday, July 13, 2024. He leaves to celebrate his life, and cherish his memories his children: Chavonne Woods (Jimmy), Chris Woods, Sr. (Deserae), Jusani Jackson, and Jabari Walker. He is also survived by his longtime partner Lisa Powell, his sisters: Antoinette Lowe and Dorothy Jones, his brothers: Raymond Jr., James Walker (Caroline), and Bobbie Walker, and his three grandchildren: Chris Jr., Demarco, and Caden, extended siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
