Candace Wilkins, 63, departed this life on December 28, 2023, at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on August 3, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard E. Pitts, Sr., and Agnes Elizabeth Pitts.
She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Oak Park High School in North Kansas City, Missouri. After high school, she attended the University of Virgina, in Charlottesville, VA, where she studied fashion design.
She began working for Nolte’s Bridal as a seamstress, where she worked for 30 years. She was involved in creating and altering costumes for Worlds of Fun, The Kansas City Chiefs, her family, and friends.
She married Glenn Wilkins on October 24, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for 38 years.
Candace is preceded in death by her father, mother, and her husband.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn Edward Wilkins, and Cameron Duane Wilkins (Christine) of Blue Springs, Missouri; and a daughter/niece, Stephany Owens (Richard) of Olathe, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Davonte, Briaunna, Demetrius, Thomas, Brynlee, Quinn, McKenna, and Novah; two brothers, Richard E. Pitts, Jr. (Gloria) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronald D. Pitts (Christine) of Lenexa, Kansas; a sister/friend, Johna Miller of The Woodlands, Texas, along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
