Carl Edward Harris ,71, was born on January 31, 1954, in Newport, Arkansas to Edward and Carrie Mae Harris.
Carl attended Southeast High School and later received his GED. He was employed at General Motors in the 70s and was recently employed at Ground Effects for several years as a sander and patcher. He was well known as the city’s plumber.
He attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor T. B. Baker in the 70’s. He later joined Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Griffin and played the drums for the choir. Carl was blessed with 4 children, and he loved his family very much.
Carl departed this life February 10, 2025, at 9:06pm at the Research Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Carrie Mae Harris, two brothers, George Harris, and Marcus Harris, his daughter, Prenthia McGee, his son, Cordell Bell, his grandson, Omar Wilson, two nephews, Marcus Harris Jr. and Donte Randolph Douglas, his great-nephew, Bobby Wallace Jr, and his father-in-law, William A. Rhodes.
He leaves to cherish his wife, Rachel D. Harris, two daughters, Tiffany Utsey and Andrea Bell, one sister, Patricia Coker (Darrell), his brother, Randolph Harns (Debra); his half-sister, Enoji Harris, his mother-in-law, Brenda Bailey, two sisters-in-law, Donna Garner (Ouasim), Charise Alexander (Ace), and a barrage of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.
