Carolyn Cedel Graves

Carolyn Cedel Graves, 57, passed away on March 15, 2020 at home in Kansas City, Ks. She was born on March 16, 1962 in Kansas City, Mo. To Harold Eugene Lane and Grace Beatrice Ambler. She spent her earlier years in Iola, Ks, Columbus, Ks and Hiawatha, Ks where she graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1981. After high school she attended Concorde Career College in Kansas City, Mo where she received a Certification in Medical Assistant.

Carolyn was passionate about caring for the elderly and being a caregiver, she began her Career as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at the following locations and dates:

1981 – 1984 Maple Heights in Hiawatha, Kansas (CMA/CNA)

1984 – 1990 Various nursing homes in Topeka, Kansas (CMA/CNA)

1991 – 2004 Johnson Country Nursing Center (CMA)

1997 – 1999 Private Care Nurse with Lane Agency Inc.

2005 – 2009 Foot Specialist of Kansas City (CNA)

2009 – 2014 Kansas City Allergy and Asthma (CNA)

2014 – 2015 NE Georgia Heath Systems

2015 – She return to Kansas City to care for her mother

2015 – 2018 Home Health Care of Synergy

Carolyn was a faithful member of Canaan Worship Center from 1998 to current where she serviced on the Nursing Ministry. One of her favorite scriptures was “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me” Philippians 4:13 KJV.

Carolyn had two children Gretchen Lane Baynham and Colby Lane prior to her marriage to Elvin Graves from 1988 to 2003 in Topeka, Ks and they had two sons Paxton Graves and DeAndre Graves. She loved and adored all her children, grandchildren, siblings, family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded into death by her brother Harold Eugene Lane II and a host Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.

Carolyn is survived by her parents Harold Eugene Lane (Janice) Everest, Ks and Grace Ambler Lane Lee’s Summit, Mo, her children Gretchen Lane Baynham (Omar) McKinney, Tx, Colby Lane (Natalie) Topeka, Ks, Paxton Graves (Roxanne) Kansas City, Ks, DeAndre Graves (Hayley) McKinney, Tx, her grandchildren Brooklyn Jones, Zachariah Baynham, Heavyn Graves, Autumn Graves, her siblings Cynthia Harris Kansas City, Mo, Cheryl McPherson-Gardiner (Leo) Garland, Tx, Carmella Thomas (Robert) Tampa, Fl, Harold Fredrick Lane (Dennise) Lee’s Summit, Mo, Sandy Hale (Doug) Chanute, Ks, Charlotte Ambler Everest, KS and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
