Carolyn Beavers Hill

Carolyn Beavers Hill was born on March 11, 1946 in Mount Enterprise, Texas. She departed peacefully at her home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri on March 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Carolyn attended Prairie View A & M University earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools in 1967 and served the district for over 35 years. During her teaching tenure she went on to earn both her Master’s and Education Specialist Degrees before retiring as a principal in the district.

Carolyn married Willie C. Hill July 29, 1967 and had one child, Tanya Monique Ellis of Blue Springs, Missouri, during their 52 years of matrimony. Additional family members left to cherish her memory are her sister, Dr. Gloria Jean Beavers of Houston, Texas and her two grandchildren, Diazhané Monique Ellis and Devon Marques Ellis of Blue Springs, Missouri, the Campbell family of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, nieces, nephews, and cousins from Texas and California, along with friends and colleagues.

Carolyn was a long-standing member of St. James Paseo United Methodist Church. Over her decades of faithful membership, she served on the usher board, assisted with the Children’s Choir, and sang in several Choirs.
