Carrie Mae Harris, 87, passed away on February 27, 2022, at the Kansas City Hospice House, in Kc. Carrie was born on August 18, 1934, in Augusta Arkansas to Henry Glenn and Jospehine Glenn. Carrie graduated from W.F. Branch High School in Newport Arkansas.
Carrie Mae married the late Edward Harris, Jr. in 1954 and five children were born from this union. Carrie Mae professed her life in Christ at an early age. She joined Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in 1978 under the leadership of Pastor T. B. Baker. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. One of her happiest moments was when she was promoted to the Mother Board by the current under shepherd, Apostle Larry B. Aiken.
Carrie loved to read her bible, praying for and with others. She also enjoyed spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile. Her smile was contagious, and she was seldom seen without a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend always thinking of others first. This quote by Maya Angelou best described her outlook on life. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Carrie Mae accepted everyone and made them feel special.
