Charles Edward Barnett, 65, passed away on February 5, 2024. He was born at home on July 14, 1958, to Herman and Elmira Barnett. He attended and graduated from the Kansas City School District. Charles Barnett worked in Environmental Service, where he retired after 25 years.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where he worked in the transportation ministry and provided Environmental Services on the weekend. Charles Barnett was well known. He held the title of “Best Dress” from a young teen to his last days on earth. He was very active in the community. He was a stylist for many, dressing them in the latest fashion. In his early years he worked as a counselor for Restart and the Salvation Army. helping the less fortunate with financial resources within the community Charles was an outgoing person, he loved to write poetry and was the best storyteller ever. He was a protector and had a heart of gold, but if you crossed him you knew at that point he was standing on business. He was a charmer and a very good two-stepper. He loved hard and would do ANYTHING for anybody. He will truly be missed.
Charles Edward Barnett was preceded in death by his father and mother Herman and Elmira Barnett, his brother Herman Barnett Jr., sister Delores Golden, and his daughter Shayla Renee Bolden.
His legacy will be lived through his children: Diamond Sparks, Shae Holloway, Alecia Spriggs, Shalonda Jones and Charles Barnett; 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins,: and a his special love Julie Reed, his good friend Joseph Gayden, and special love for the Estes, Jacobs. Davis, and Marchia Burns, and Families.
