Charles was born on October 2, 1937 in the small town of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Charles was the only child of Pearl and John Ross, who both preceded him in death. Charles attended the local high school and upon completion he enlisted in the US Army, on June 30, 1955, at the young age of 18. Charles also attended peen Valley Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. Charles was stationed in the Philippines where he would serve at the rank of a private. Chares was honorably discharged on June 29, 1959. He returned home shortly after and on October 28, 1962 he married Sharon K. Jackson, they then settled in Kansas City and started a family.
To this marriage four children were born: Johnetta Jackson, who preceded him in death, Alice Brock (of Raymore, MO), Charles Brock Jr. (of Kansas City, MO), and Sharon J. Brock (of Tampa, FL). In 1963 Charles began working at Cooks Paint's where he would stay for the next 10 years. In 1971 Charles and Sharon divorced. In 1973 Charles began working at T.W.A. In 1986 Charles began working at General Services Administration, (GSA), where he would stay for the next 35 plus years. Charles was dedicated to his job and his family. In 1992, shortly after the passing of his father, Charles dedicated himself to take care of his mother up until her passing. Charles was loved by many, he spread so much love and taught us so much outside of family and work. Charles greatest love was his cars. The car club, Real Riders, was founded in 2008 under the leadership of the founder Barry Weston and Jimmy Brock, president of Real Riders. Charles was an original member and well respected from coast to coast. There was nothing more Charles loved more than cruising on a Saturday morning in his Cadillac with his son, Jimmy Brock. Charles would eventually move in with his daughter, Alice Brock, who nurtured and cared for her father until the end, with help from Charles very special friends, Renita Strong and Tracye Gregory.
Charles will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Charles is survived by his children; Alice Brock, Charles Brock Jr., Sharon J. Brock, Jimmy Brock, Angel Brock and Priscilla Mims.
