Charles A. Innis was born August 23, 1961 to Howard and Violet Innis. He departed this earth without languish or suffering on August 6, 2021. He was the youngest of five children. His parents and sister Laura preceded him in death.
Big Chuck was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, MO. He attended private school at an early age and graduated from Central High School in 1979. He was so elated to be a Central Blue Eagle.
Prior employments were the City of KCMO as an Equipment Operator and Checkers Transportation as a driver. Charles always had a passion for the youth. He was a Director for Troost Midtown Community Center, coaching basketball, having game nights and even feeding the homeless at the Community Center. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching Little League and Major League Baseball/Basketball, and was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs. He loved talking smack with his brother and friends. No one could talk more smack then Chuck.
He was a big guy with a big heart and a quick wit that could bring you to tears of laughter. He was by no means perfect but he knew God. Charles was baptized at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in 1997 under the late Rev. Fate White, Sr. He joined Living Word of Christ Fellowship Ministry in 2019 under the leadership of Bishop Erick E. Vassol. Chuck loved his family but when it came to his grandchildren, they were untouchable. He made sure to attend football practices and the games. No matter how he was feeling he would be there for his boys. He would sit up all night building Legos and racing car tracks with his grandsons. Chuck loved the holidays. He was a big kid at heart on Christmas and the 4th of July. Chuck was full of love. He was a father figure and a mentor to many.
He is survived by Cynthia Booker (the love of his life of 23 years), father to Anthony Roberts (Terrica), Tylan Sanders and Alexius Wright, one brother, Howard Innis (Elizabeth), two sisters, Nevada Belton and Sharon Innis-Byrd (Louis). Seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
