Reverend Charles Henry Jackson, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at home with his wife and sisters. He was born December 20, 1939, in Moscow, Tennessee to the late Jerry and Renner Jackson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Jackson, Jr. and William L. Jackson (Sonny).

Charles graduated from W.P. Ware High School in Somerville, Tennessee. He also attended Tennessee State College in Nashville, Tennessee where he received an Associate degree in Business Management. He also attended Western Baptist Bible College.

At an early age, Charles accepted Christ and joined Spring Hill Baptist Church. He Pastored Oak Grove Baptist Church in Humbolt, Kansas and Second Baptist Church in Odessa, Missouri. He was a member and Associate Pastor of Rescue Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.T. Bland, where he faithfully served until his health declined.

Charles was president of Jackson Employment Agency and retired after 31 years of service. Reverend Jackson owned one of the first black employment offices in Kansas City. He would recruit graduate students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and then set them up with interviews with some of the country's leading companies like AT&T, Southwestern Bell, IBM, and Hallmark to name a few. He was passionate concerning higher education and promoting blacks into some of the leading jobs. He was a past member of Operation Push He was an avid supporter of black owned businesses and very passionate about teaching people of color how to invest their money in stocks, buy land, become property owners, and grow their own food. He loved his family and taught us about the value of saving your money and leaving a heritage for your family.

Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a great domino player. He often played with his brother-in-law Carl and other family members. He was a professional boxer and sang with a gospel quartet group. One of his greatest joys was preaching the gospel and leading people to Christ. You would always see him studying the word of God.

Charles married Brenda Jackson and to this union two daughters were born, Carla M. Jackson and Carol J. Jackson. The marriage was dissolved after many years. Later, he married Juanita M. Hawkins and to this union one son was born, Charles Henry Jackson, Jr. They were married for the last 46 years.

Charles will be sadly missed by his loving wife Juanita Jackson, daughters Carla M. Jackson, Carol J. Jackson, and sons Terry L. Hawkins (Tanya), Rev. Michael D. Hawkins (Cheryl), Elder Jerome A. Hawkins, Charles H. Jackson, Jr. (Lisa), nine sisters Mamie L. Wilkerson, Luecrethia Stennis (Carl), Odessa Jones, Cora Watson, Annie Jackson Wooden (Dean), Reola Payne (Bishop Payne), Mary Wilkerson, Earlene Jackson, Ella B. Manson (Tony), his two brothers, Willie C. Jackson (Bobby Jean), Elvis Esq. Jackson (Sandra), 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
