Listen to Obituary

Charline was born on February 24, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas to parents Charlie and Clarice Thornton. Charline moved to Kansas City where she attended and graduated from Central High School High School in 1964. After high school she earned her LPN degree from General Hospital. She had a career for 30 years in nursing and caring for others. Charline was a wonderful mother and a loving wife. She married Lloyd Taylor in 1973, and the couple had 4 children together. When Charline wasn’t working, she enjoyed fishing, drawing, music, and spending time with her family. Her family and friends will always remember her as the big-hearted lady that everybody called “Mama” or “Grandma.” You didn’t have to be of any kin to her for her to treat you as such. She will truly be missed by all who got a chance to know her. She was loved and will forever remain in our hearts and our thoughts.

Charline Taylor was called home on April 21, 2019. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. She is survived by her children; Charles Thornton, Terrence Taylor, Stacey Taylor, Michael Taylor(Sonya), one brother; Charles Thornton, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Taylor Jr., both of her parents, and her brother; Claude Thornton.
