Cheryl Renee Weaver-Starr gained her heavenly wings on November 1, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on October 13, 1959, to Ernestine Weaver and the late James E. Weaver, Cheryl grew up to be a vibrant and nurturing figure, deeply involved in both her educational pursuits and community.

Cheryl graduated from Forrest City High School as a cheerleader and honor student before advancing her education at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. She dedicated 35 years to the USD 500 School District, where she retired as an Assistant Administrator of Infant/Toddler Services, profoundly impacting many young lives and their families.

Cheryl was a devout Christian, having committed her life to Christ early on at Williams Temple COGIC in Palestine, Arkansas. After relocating to Kansas City, Missouri she became a cherished member of the Faith City Christian Center under Pastor Walza Starr II, where she continued to express her faith and community spirit.

Known for her love of cooking and baking, Cheryl had a unique way of bringing joy and comfort to those around her through her culinary skills, creating lasting memories around the dinner table.

Cheryl is lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years, Wendell R. Starr; children, Christopher P. Drake, Latricia D. Starr, Narika S. Starr-Ahmad (Hanif), and Desiree D. Starr (Kiplyn); grandchildren, Vanessa Drake and Ptah Holley; her mother, Ernestine Weaver; siblings, James D. Weaver, Phyllis D. Weaver, Anika L. Anderson-Hack (Sven), and Jackie Brown (James); alongside a host of other relatives and friends including many of Christopher’s friends who viewed her as second mother. She was greeted in heaven by her father, James E. Weaver, and sister, Vanessa A. Stewart.

Cheryl's legacy of love, dedication, and service leaves an indelible mark on her community and all who knew her. Her life will be celebrated and remembered as a beacon of warmth and unity.
