A Tribute to a Remarkable Man – Christopher Ebie Williams
Born in Lafiaji, Lagos Island, Christopher Ebie Williams lived a life that embodied strength, integrity, and love. As the youngest child of Mary and Williams, he brought joy and light to his family from the very beginning.
His pursuit of knowledge and excellence took him far beyond his roots. From Technical College Yaba in Lagos to Belgium and eventually to Missouri, USA, he followed his passion for Civil Engineering at Missouri S&T (formerly Missouri Rolla), where he graduated in 1981. Even before earning his degree, he had already laid the foundation for what would become his greatest accomplishment — his family.
In 1974, he married his beloved wife, Grace, and together they welcomed two beautiful children: Marchristy in 1975, Albert in 1976, and while in America he was bless with Another son Ebie Jr 1980.His devotion to his family was constant and unwavering — he led with love, wisdom, and quiet strength.
Christopher’s career reflected the same diligence and humility that defined his character. From his early days working at the zoo to his long and successful tenure as a Professional Engineer at City Hall, he served with pride until his retirement in 2009. In 2012, he was blessed to find love again with Mrs. Lola Williams, and they were joined in marriage on June 15th of that year.
Beyond his professional and personal achievements, Christopher was a man of many passions. He was a proud grandfather, a champion golfer with the Kansas City Swingers, and a respected Grandmaster within the Masonry. But above all, he will be remembered for his sharp wit, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for family and friends.
Today, we honor a life well-lived — a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in our hearts, in our stories, and in the love he so freely gave.
Rest well, Dad. You have run your race with grace, and your light will continue to shine through us forever.
