Clarence Lee Wesley (aka) “Mr. Tibbs” departed this life peacefully at the age of 80 surround by family at his home in Kansas City, Missouri on November 3, 2022. He was born on July 19, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Aurther Wesley and Katie Mae Wesley. He attended Booker T. Washington High School.
After high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1967, and served for 8 years. He later began working for Orning Cornig Fiberglass as a line worker, where he worked for 15 years, and retired in 1991.
Mr. Tibbs loved to hangout in the sun. He could always be found under a shade tree playing domino’s; clowning and talking. He loved children of all ages, and many even called him “Grandpa.”
He married Brenda Hughes on August 2, 1973, in St. Joseph, Missouri. They were happily married for 48 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Aurther Wesley and Katie Mae Wesley; his son: Craig Hughes; his sisters: Alice Lockett, Dora Burd, Kay Lewis; and his brothers: Alonzo Bailey, and Charles Jefferson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Brenda Wesley; his daughters: Laneatra Hughes of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tonya Hughes of St. Joseph, Missouri; his sisters: Christine Wesley, and Lena Norman; four granddaughters’: Tienea Hughes, Tashonna Sawyer, TyKeya Hughes, and Keyaira Hughes; three great grandsons’: Javion Nettles, William Allen, and Donnell Mosley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
