Claudine Jackson Adams was born on August 19, 1945 to Sell and Claudine Jackson and she was given her mother’s name as her mother passed away giving her life. Claudine was lovingly raised by Sell and Jessie Jackson along with her maternal grandmother Idella Smith in Memphis, Tennessee. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Tracy, three brothers Clay, James and Sell Jr. four sisters Norrisdine, Frankie, Her twin Texannia and Martha.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Alpha Church where she attended Sunday School, sang in the Youth Choir and later the Mass Choir, she was a member of the Young Peoples Spiritual Union under the leadership of her Pastor, Elder Victor H. Williams Sr. and her father, Elder Sell Jackson Sr.
She attended Hamilton School and Geeter High School in Memphis, Tennessee and she continued her education in Kansas City, Kansas where she received an Associate Degree in Education at Donnelly College in Kansas City, Kansas. She was previously employed by Kansas City, Kansas School System as a Substitute Teacher and later she was employed by The Foster Grandparents until she retired.
Claudine married Larry Adams and together they raised Tammy. Tracy, Stacy, Dama and Damion. She was a doting nurturing mother; she kept her children close to her, prepared great meals, and kept an immaculate home for them. She enjoyed cooking and she enjoyed feeding people. When she came home we could depend on her to prepare our favorite dishes. She kept her membership at Alpha Church, never wanting to join another church, she came home three or four times a year until her children became school age.
Claudine leaves to cherish her precious memory two sons Danny and Damion, four daughters Tammy, Latonya, Stacy and Dama. six sisters Peggie (Roosevelt), Mary (Melvin), Jeanette, Willieva (Willie), Ruby (Jack) and Alma, one sister in law Bobbie, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Finally on Sunday March 12, 2017 Claudine decided she would no longer wait to get back to her home church in Memphis, where she could hear her favorite songs and see all her family friends and love ones; she raised her head and walked down that isle to enjoin herself with the church with her family there. She must have made up her mind that no matter what church she was in she was the one “Who determined her own destination” . Her last words were I love you all! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!
