A life of love and service is to be celebrated, never mourned. Such a life began on August 5, 1948, in Heidelberg, (Water’s Quarters), Mississippi, as the proud parents, Vina Mae & Clifton Cruise, announced the birth of their third son, Clinton Cruise. Clinton grew into a strong, tall in stature, sunny red curly haired young man. He became a gentle giant and was given the nickname of “Huck.”
Clinton’s family later moved to Kansas City, MO. During his life in Kansas City, he was educated within the Kansas City, Missouri school system and graduated from Manual High & Vocational School in 1966. After graduating he was accepted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge.
Clinton was blessed to marry, Evelyn Perry, and they became the proud owner of “C & E Automotive” on 31stand Paseo, in the nineteen eighties. There were no children born to this union and the marriage was later dissolved.
The gentle giant, Huck, became as a father to many of his nephews, nieces, and godson, James (Antonio) where he provided so many monetary needs, Christmas gifts, funny jokes, encouraging and kind words to them all.
Clinton departed this life on, November 5, 2021, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Clifton Cruise, Vina Mae McMiller; his stepfather, Robert McMiller; one nephew, Tony Hinton; and three great-nephews, Stephen Jackson, Donald Coty & Antonia Jones.
Clinton leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, Clifton Cruise, Harrisonville, MO., and Charles Cruise (Florence), Kansas City, MO.; three sisters, Bertha Howard, Barbara Hinton, and Janice McMiller, all of Kansas City, MO.; three aunts, Mattie Hayes, Ruth Anna Holder, and Julia House all of Heidelberg, MS.; one godson, cousins, 15 nieces and nephews, 33-great nieces & nephews, 28-great great nieces, & nephews, and one great, great, great nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.
