Cody Carter passed away on August 11, 2023 in Liberty, Missouri. Cody’s education begun at his preschool Definitely Learning, his elementary schools Lee A. Tolbert and Topping, middle school Maple Park, and his high school journey began at Winnetonka High School. He was very active in athletics, and it all began when he joined the Kansas City Knights baseball team as a child, the Rams football team from 2007-2009, he lettered in wrestling and football being a part of both teams for four years. He attended Penn Valley college pursuing a criminal justice degree. He was a man who loved sports talk and shared a passion for his favorite teams LSU, the Saints, and the Redskins.
He was a church member of Victorious Life and showed his love of God through his graciousness and compassion to others. Cody grew up in North Kansas City and then began to lay his foundation in Liberty, MO where him and his fiancé Kimberly Camacho bought a home together where they shared so many memories with their son. Cody loved to go fishing with his son, learn more and educate about guns and gun safety, dogs, grilling on Sunday, traveling and going on family trips to his favorite place New Orleans, Louisiana and the last place he traveled (Cancun, Mexico) where he proposed to his fiancé, he loved collecting shoes and had a cologne obsession, and loved watching Black Panther.
Cody’s first job at 15 was at Donut King on Armour Road where he met his fiancé of ten years Kimberly Camacho. After Donut King, he began his job at Target from 2016-2019 then began his career at Academy Sports and Outdoors from 2020 til departure. He was a man who wasn’t afraid of hard work. He was dedicated to providing for his family. He was not only a provider financially, but he gave the emotional support that those who loved him needed. He always knew what to say in time of need.
Cody was preceded into death by his grandfather Jack Price, step grandfather Lawrence Jackson, his two uncles Billy Price and Jack Price Jr., Aunt Elaine Price, and his loving animals Patches and Princess.
Cody is survived by his mother Lynn Price, father Eric Carter, his stepfather Joe Wright, his godfather Lar-Neal Turner, his grandmother Marjorie Mae Jackson, his aunts Marilyn Dixon and Beverly Dixon, his Uncle Aaron, his siblings Anisa Price, Kapri Carter, and Gage Carter, his fiancé Kimberly Camacho and his son Cody Jerrell Carter II, his nieces Moulan Carter, Kayden Carter, and his nephew Xayden Carter and all the special friends that he touched.
Cody never knew a stranger. Anywhere he went he left everyone in the room with a smile. Cody had a long list of dear friends that will always cherish him and his memory. He was a loving and dedicated father and uncle who loved all his kids around him. CJ was very lucky to have a father and role model like Cody. He was a very hands-on dad that made sure every day his son knew that he loved and cared for him. He was at every baseball game coaching and cheering his son on. Cody’s in-laws Rick and Sarah McGuire loved him as if he was their son. With Cody and Kimberly’s wedding being under two months away and his entire life with his family ahead of him, it leaves a hole that will never be filled but he is loved by many, and his life will be honored forever. Cody made an imprint on many lives that will forever be present.
